Q: Why should I purchase Travel Insurance?
A: Travel Insurance covers unforeseen problems that may occur on or before you take your trip. It protects you from losing your travel investment if you cancel within the penalty period where travel suppliers and tour operators keep your non-refundable deposits. It also provides coverage for lost, stolen or damaged baggage, reimbursement of medical expenses and expenses incurred to evacuate you back to your home.
Q: Is Financial Default covered?
A: The First Class plan offers coverage for financial default as long as you purchase the plan within 21 days of making your initial trip deposit. Financial default coverage is available with the Super Saver plan provided you purchase the additional coverage within 21 days of making your initial trip deposit, and pay the added fee.
Q: If I cancel my trip due to terrorism, am I covered?
A: You are covered under the First Class plan if the terrorist incident occurs in a city listed on your covered trip itinerary within 30 days prior to your scheduled departure date. The same city must not have experienced a terrorist incident within the 90 days prior to the terrorist incident that causes the cancellation of your trip. The same coverage is available under the Super Saver plan provided you purchase the additional coverage within 21 days of making your initial trip deposit, and pay the added fee.
Q: What benefits are included in Travel Insurance?
A: Besides providing coverage for trip cancellation, our travel insurance plans include reimbursement due to trip interruptions, trip delays, emergency medical expenses, baggage, evacuations, accidental death and dismemberment along with a variety of other services and benefits. Don't forget about the TruTravel Assist Services you will receive for a year from your effective date! These include Assistance Services, Roadside Assistance, ID Theft Resolution and TruTravel Wellness.
Q: Do you cover Pre-existing conditions?
A: The First Class plan offers coverage for pre-existing conditions as long as you purchase the plan within 21 days of making your initial trip deposit. The pre-existing condition waiver is available with the Super Saver plan provided you purchase the additional coverage within 21 days of making your initial trip deposit, and pay the added fee.
Q: If I need medical attention while on my trip, am I covered?
A: Covered medical expenses incurred during your trip due to an injury or illness that occurs during your trip will be reimbursed. The pre-existing condition waiver would apply to this benefit as well.
Q: What happens if my flight is cancelled?
A: If your flight is cancelled due to a covered reason for 6 hours or more, you can take a later flight and you will be reimbursed for any additional transportation expenses to get to your destination. The plan also includes coverage for unused non-refundable land and water accommodations and reasonable additional expenses incurred for meals and lodging.
Q: Are frequent flyer miles covered?
A: In the event you cancel your trip due to a covered reason, the plan will reimburse you up to $200 charged by the airline to retain your frequent flyer miles used for the specific trip.
